Mrs. Kerr was my son's 6th grade teacher at Pine Forest Sixth Grade Center. He was
a handful! She was so patient and most helpful to me as a parent. I sought the help of our peditrician and the 1st day he began medication, they had a field trip! When I picked him up from school that day, her first words were, "I didn't even know he was here"! She was truly a blessing to me and my son. Through the years,I would run into her here and there and we always shared a memory of those years.

Kerr family,  I want to tell you what a wonderful service you had for your mom on Friday.  What a tribute to her to have her two daughters-in-law speak about her.  I worked 17 years with your mom at Pine Forest.  She will be sorely missed, but if it gives you any comfort, she definately made her mark on this earth.  Rest in peace, dear Marilyn.

I knew Mrs Kerr at San Jose elementary and got to know her better through Retired educators and my mother Frances Brewster.  She was a kind,sweet woman with a wonderful sense of humor.  To the family, Knox, you and I were in school together for a while,  I am sorry that I did not know about your mothers passing sooner, but I have been battling health issues for about two years.  Please know that I remember your mother with great regard.  Henry Brewster.

Ms. Kerr was my 5th grade teacher at Pine Forest school in Jacksonville. She was strict and expected a lot from her class. But she was also compassionate. She read us the book "Old Yeller". I will never forget how her voice ,while reading aloud, brought that story to life everyday for us. It was the best hour of each day at school for the  class. Thank you for caring for all of your students. You helped to shape so many lives at such a challenging age. Go rest high on that mountain, your work on earth is done, go to heaven a shouting for the father and the son! What great works you did, thank you, with love from your 5th grade class of 1970! Dear Knox and Mason, 
Your Mom was my 6th grade teacher at San Jose Elementary many, many years ago.  Remarkably, she attended my wedding in 1973 and we have kept in touch through the years via Christmas cards (even as recently as this past Christmas).  We would also enjoy quick visits when we'd run into each other during my visits to Jax to see my parents, whom she also knew.  I actually had her recent Christmas card attached to my calendar for this week to remind me to give her a call.  I will forever regret missing that opportunity.  As you know, your Mom was a special lady who touched countless lives through the years.  She certainly touched mine and I will never forget her.  The main lives she cared about touching though, were yours.  She spoke of you, and your families, with such love, pride, and devotion.  My thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time.

I was a student in Mrs. Kerr's class at San Jose Elementary.  I recognized her sweet face before I saw the name.  RIP Mrs Kerr

Marilyn was a dear member of Jacksonville Alumnae Panhellenic Association and we will miss her.  Her high ideals, strong volunteerism and loyalty were fine examples to all of us.

I knew Marilyn as my daughters' teacher, as a Kappa Delta sorority sister and as my sister Frances' colleague. She was a remarkable lady who will be long remembered.

I was a member of her 6th grade class. Upon graduation, she wrote me a KD rec to the university of Georgia  I was always appreciative of her support and pledged KD because of her.  She made a difference in my life. I met my husband because of being a KD. Thank you!

So sorry for your loss, I will be praying for the family. Your Mom was very kind to my mother, Ellen Gerace, and she will be missed.

Marilyn Kerr was a remarkable woman, and made a great impact on those fortunate enough to know her. I knew her through her work with our Women's Circle 3 at Riverside Presbyterian Church. She was a tireless worker for the Kingdom of God and an inspiration  for all of us. She will be missed greatly!  My prayers are for solace for her family.

To Mason and Knox;just want you to know that I always held your mother and father in high esteem and enjoyed their company while at Riverside Park United Methodist church.  I still use a Strongs Concordance they gave to me. I was sorry to read in the Tampa Tribune of your mother's death and pray that all of you are being sustained by a strong faith and love.
