

Mary Mohler Ellis, 95, a resident of Montgomery, Texas and formerly a longtime Jacksonville resident passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2017, after a brief illness. Mary M. Ellis was born October 4, 1922, in Plant City, Florida. She married her husband, Francis L. Ellis, on April 12, 1940. He preceded her death February 10, 1991. They were married almost 50 years. Mary, also known by her friends as “Liz”, was longtime member of the local garden club.
She is survived by her children, Lynn Esposito-Inns and husband, Dr. Douglas Inns of Montgomery, Texas and Marianne Butler Patterson and husband, Dr. John Patterson, Virginia Beach, Virginia; 9 loving grandchildren and spouses, Adeline Ellis Lamb and husband Kenneth, Jacksonville Beach, Florida; Steven Ellis, Jacksonville Beach, Florida; Joseph Esposito and wife Becky, Dallas, Texas; Adam Inns and wife, Anna, San Francisco, California; Michael Esposito, Houston, Texas; Scott Inns, Montgomery, Texas; Savannah Butler, Hanover, New Hampshire; Caroline Butler, St. Louis, Missouri and Jack Butler, Virginia Beach, Virginia; and 3 great-grandchildren, Finley and Ellis Lamb, Jacksonville Beach, Florida and Samantha Esposito, Dallas, Texas. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Wayne M. Ellis, her brother, Harry Mohler and her sister, Ann Carney.
Funeral services for will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. The family will greet friends before the funeral at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel at Oaklawn.
