Cousin Bruce, I am 3,000 miles away but you know that I was right there with you in spirit. I miss Mary so much. You and she are still so much a part of my life and you both always will be in my heart and in my memories. God bless you, Cousin. One day we will all be together in Heaven. My love always,

It was my fortunate to have Mary in my life during the time God's ordained. We became friends, mentors, buddies and taskmasters for each other. We both had a love for the arts, books/writing, travel and good music. As I was finishing up my first book, Mary was there to edit, suggest and eventually buy the book and participate in several book signings.

 I was the beneficiary of weekly visits with Mary as she came to visit her mother, Nancy. The two of us would get to talking and would look over at Nancy who was smiling at the connection we had. There was no a holiday or birthday that I didn't have an expression of fondness and love from Mary. She knew "our" weakness- chocolate and anything sweet ( that's more me) 

I am so happy that Mary and Bruce were able to take several trips to places that they both loved and that Mary was anticipating seeing again. Cell phone will travel. Nancy, Jane and I were all privy to pictures from everywhere and of everything, from a rainbow bridge to a delicious plate of chicken fingers.

 With my own eyes and heart, I saw Mary come alive in a different way over the past couple of years. Her jokes increased, her laughs multiplied, her telling me to stay out of trouble quadrupled,  She seemed to be joyfully walking in new territory with new strength. 

This confidence and courage that inhabited Mary's body, soul and spirit was a reflection of her trust in God. She knew He was giving her the ability and mindset to flourish in the face of illness and sickness. He also gave her the conviction to live her life to the fullest in her last months. 
I told my roommate that I saw a difference in Mary and that I was so grateful that she was living on a higher plane but now she was going to be leaving. My roommate, Beverly, wise as she is, said to me " but she got there."

Like Mary, let us live to get there!  Thank you my perfect friend for me.

Mary was a longtime friend of my late husband, Roger Kuder, and over the years she and I became close friends.  I will always remember her as a very kind-hearted, classy, genuinely caring lady. I will miss you Mary. x

Sorry, but I want to make a public service announcement to all who are going from the Westside of the River to the service in Mandarin on Saturday morning.  The FDOT work on the expansion joint on the Buckman Bridge south/ toward Mandarin from Orange Park is not finished.  It becomes a parking lot on weekends.     I recommend you take I-95 through town and plan to get to Hartley and St Augustine Road from the east side.

Mary and I met at Fred Astaire Dance Studio 43 years ago. We shared many life experiences over the years including dancing, volunteering, working, reading and card playing. She was a courageous and kind hearted woman of beauty and valor. She is sorely missed. With Love, Barbara C. Wells.

When our brother Nick married Jane we landed not one, but two Tucker sisters, Jane and Mary.  Mary was warm, kind, and genuine, and we always looked forward to visiting with her and Bruce. We learned so much about Mary’s varied interests in our time together; her love of the performing arts, her work with authors, her deep network of friends, her commitment to charitable work, and her love for family. 

Mary faced her illness with remarkable courage and grace.  Recently, she and Bruce stopped in Atlanta on their way to spend time in her beloved mountains. When we asked about her desire to visit the mountains, she replied that while she was raised near the beach, she was a “mountain girl at heart."

We mourn Mary’s passing and will keep this mountain girl forever in our hearts.  May her memory be eternal.
