(Mary) Louise Harrell, 90, of Jacksonville, passed
away Saturday, April 5th, at Baptist Medical
Center in Fernandina Beach, Florida.
Mrs. Harrell was born on February 7, 1924, in
Soperton, Treutlen County, Georgia.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 51
years Milton (Ray) Harrell; her parents Carroll
Hinton Porter and Mary Morris Porter; three
sisters, Christine Underwood, Myra Mead and
Mildred Daniell.
Mrs. Harrell served her Country in WWll working
as a Powder Girl at the Ordnance Weapons Factory
in Macon, Georgia. For more than 30 years, Mrs.
Harrell shared her love of children working in
Daycare.
Mrs. Harrell was a member of Murray Hill United
Methodist Church in Jacksonville, where she
served faithfully for more than 60 years. She was a
Charter Member and former president of the
Friendship Sunday School Class, a member and
former president of the United Methodist Women
in the Lillian Churchwell Circle. Mrs. Harrell was a
member of the Amelia Island Chapter of the
Daughters of the American Revolution.
Mrs. Harrell is survived by two daughters, Nancy
Price (Michael), Evelyn Belcher (Randy), and her
son, Milton T. Harrell; a brother, Charles Porter
(Jenny); eight grandchildren, Christie Harvie
(David), Jennifer Belcher (Aaron), Maggie Richards
(Randy), Katie Bechtold (Brent), Annie Oxarart
(Taylor), Julia Harrell, Jamerson Harrell and
William Harrell; eight great grandchildren, Madison,
David, Alex, Cate, Carson, Jonah, Paige and Quinn;
four stepgreat
grandchildren, Rachael, Scott, Noah,
Olivia; and loving nieces and nephews.
The family will be receiving friends and family for
visitation at Murray Hill United Methodist Church
starting at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, April 8th,
followed by her Service at 11:00 with Dr. Pam Hall
Officiating. Interment will be immediately
afterwards, at Riverside Park Cemetery.
