She was born in Waynesburg, PA to Ida May Gump Engle and David Engle. Ann graduated from High School in Waynesburg, PA. Ann was a loving wife to her now deceased, husband Jay L Hoffman. Jay served our country during WWII and the Korean War.
Mary Ann retired from Southern Bell and later worked for Florida Hardware Company and Bridger Display. Ann truly had a pure spirit and lived life to the fullest. She was always surrounded by numerous friends and family and had a heart of gold. She enjoyed gardening, reading books and traveling to be with family and friends.
Ann was a wonderful mother to Gregory, Terry Lee and Kurt. She loved her grandchildren, Luke, Christopher, Kate, Victoria and Eliza. They were the apple of her eye. She was a fabulous sister to Verna Alexander and Jean Sabaka now living and also carried a torch for her beloved sisters; Ruth, Jessie, Nellie and Elizabeth; Brothers, Ross, Harold and Jim, all of whom she was immensely proud of their service during WWII. She is also survived by many Gump/Engle and Hoffman nieces and nephews.
A Committal Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, November 23rd, in Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218, where she will be laid to rest.
Due to current COVID restrictions, social distancing and masks are required at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
