LUCAS—Mary Elizabeth Lucas, 79, passed away Monday, April 19, 2010 at her home. Mrs. Lucas was a Jacksonville native and had retired from King Edward Cigar Co. after 50 years service, beginning work there when she was 15 years old. Surviving family includes: 5 daughters, Theresa (Don) Matthews, Patricia (Wilton) Foe, Mary (Timmy) Mendoza, Carol (Rick) Canayay, and Barbara (Mike) Allen; 2 sons, Jack Williams and Bill (Mary) Feagle; 4 sisters, Evelyn Brown, Joanne (Tony) Barkoskie, Helen (Ron) McKinney and Patricia (Bishop) Sheely; a brother, Lawrence (Yolanda) Freeman; 19 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 23, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 1426 Rowe Ave., with Pastor Perry Fruscella officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday (TODAY) from 6:00 unitl 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
