Uncle mike, we will miss the talks and the being locked in the back of the car after leaving because he tripped the child locks when we were not looking.  Mom would then tell us to get out of the car and then proceed to start saying we weren't listening only to have to come "rescue" us from the car.  We would then laugh at Uncle Mike's safety consciousness.  It wasn't until years later that we realized he was so safety conscious because of all the things he did as a kid...his was safety from experience.  We will miss you Uncle Mike.

Uncle Mike was like a father and best friend to me.  He was always good for advice.  I will miss our talks and laughs, and the way he joked around with me. He was a good family man, and was also good and loving to Cathy & Gary. I look forward to seeing him again in Heaven one day.  We love you Uncle Mike and will miss you dearly.

My heart goes out to Aunt Bobby , Belinda,  Adam and Billy as well as all my aunts and uncles and cousins.
I have wonderful memories of Uncle Mike.  He was funny, intelligent and always had the time to share stories with you.
I remember how much I enjoyed coming with my family each summer for two weeks from New York to Jacksonville to visit Mama and all my aunts and uncles and fun cousins.
I especially enjoyed staying at Aunt Bobby's and Uncle Mike's house for a couple of days during that time.  This is the spot where we congregate and have a big cook-out at least a couple of times during our stay.  We would always make homemade ice cream on the non-electric ice cream maker.  All of us cousins had to share in the hand cranking operation. It was the best ice cream I do believe ever! 
All of us will be a little more lonely and a little more sadder. But we can rejoice for all the good memories and good times that Uncle Mike gave us that brought us all together over the years.
This time does make us pause and realize to love and keep closer to our hearts the loved ones that are still with us.
We will always have our fond memories of special people in our lives that gave us so much and be thankful.

When I was a child I loved coming from NY each summer to visit Mama and all my aunts and uncles and  cousins in Jacksonville.  I especially loved staying with Aunt Bobby and Uncle Mike. I remember all the fun times when we all got together and met  over there and we made homemade ice cream. Each one of us kids had to take turns at turning the crank for at least an hour but that ice cream was the best.
 Life will be a little more lonely, a little more sad but we can all rejoice that uncle Mike gave us all so many good times filled with fond memories that will not be forgotten.
This also gives us time to pause and appreciate and love even more our loved ones that are still with us.

My memories will always be close in my heart of my Uncle Mike, He was there when I was young giving me the steps to find my way in life with the belief in God.  He talk and listened as if I was adult and my words were of the most important thing at the time.  He did the same for my  son as most of us young children when we were young. Even as an adult Uncle Mike could feel my pain when I was hiding it and would come comfort me with "Denise you are not alone, you have God and family with you."  Mike  Mickler was a loved man by  all of us that knew him,  he planted his Gods seed of knowledge in all that knew him.

My dear uncle mike, I was as close to you as my own father and losing you hurts just as much.  I will truly miss you sitting In the front seat with me on all our family outings and those wonderful trips we took with aunt Bobbie, Belinda and my mother. I know you are in Heaven and safe in the arms of our precious Jesus. I am so happy for you and so sad for all of us.  Love Shirley

Mr Mickler was one of the nicest, most genuine person I have ever met.  He will surely be missed!
