Myrtle “Pete” O’Brien, 84, passed away on December 26, 2012. Born in Charlestown, IN to the late John E. and Dora Turner Smith, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Joe D. O’Brien, she is survived by her children, Dianna Moesner, David V. O’Brien (Shearer), and Darlene Green (Rick); brother, Leroy Smith (Ruth); grandchildren, Mikell Moesner, Paul Moesner, and Joe Allen (Shannan); along with many other family members and friends. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday (today), December 30th in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 31st in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin with Dr. Vonn Johnson as Officiant, followed by interment in Mandarin Cemetery.
