

After a long and brave fight, Patricia died surrounded by her family.
She was a beautiful person, a loyal friend, an amazing wife, a wonderful grandmother, and the best mother we could possibly have had. She will be missed more than she would ever imagine.
Patricia was a Jacksonville, FL resident born on November 17, 1945, in East St. Louis, IL, to George E. and Anna Mae Cook (Dee). She was the youngest of their five children.
Mrs. Egan graduated from St. Teresa Academy High School in 1963.
She had spent many years in her profession as a hair dresser. Patricia was enjoying traveling, entertaining, and spending time with her grandchildren in her retirement years.
Before her failing health, she was also very active with Holy Family Catholic Church.
Patricia is survived by her loving husband, William J. Egan Jr., of Jacksonville; daughter and son-in-law, Jesse and Cheryl Stakes of Jacksonville; son and daughter-in-law, William J. III and Lisa Egan, of Baltimore, MD; and daughter Kelly Taylor of Hammonton, NJ; grandchildren, Sarah (20), Paul (14), Eddie (10), Will (8), Ben (5) and Sam (5); brother, Richard Cook, of Sherwood, AK, and sister, Wilma Schmidt, of Florrissant, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Robert Cook and her sister Dorothy Pennebaker (Cook).
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 in Holy Family Catholic Church, 9800 Baymeadows Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32256. Visitation will be from 10 am to 11am in the church prior to the funeral. The final resting place will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, 4214 Loretto Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32258.
