Patricia Shuffler Wilkes

Patricia Carol Shuffler Wilkes entered God’s heavenly kingdom upon angels’ wings on June 22, 2015. Pat, the youngest daughter of the late Harry and Carolyn Shuffler, was born in Brunswick, Georgia in 1945. She was a graduate of Landon High School and attended Florida State University where she was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority whose motto is ”to live with purpose” each day.

Pat is survived by her husband of 48 years, Bobby; son, Brian; grandson, Alex; sister, Sandra Olbon (Philip) of Southern Pines, North Carolina; sister-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Murrer (Joe); and many beloved nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Pat recently retired from Wells Fargo Bank as an HR Project Coordinator having served 51 years. Other than family, Pat’s joy was being an exemplary employee and sharing lifetime friendships with her co-workers. Alex, her grandson, brought many happy hours to Pat’s life. She enjoyed crafts such as scrap booking and greeting cards. She was a member of a bridge group for over 30 years loving the challenges of the game with friends who were like sisters to Pat.

The celebration of Pat’s life will be held on Monday, June 29, 2015 at 10 AM at Hardage–Giddens Oaklawn Chapel and Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville FL, 32207. Graveside to follow.

Pat’s family extends sincere appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff of Memorial Hospital and Community Hospice for their tender care and compassion. Memorials may be made to Community Hospice, the American Cancer Society/Lymphoma or charity of your choice.
