Paul Leo Spencer, 84, went home to be with his Lord and his loving wife of 54 years on Monday August 8. Paul was born in Louisville, KY on January 3, 1927. He was a resident of Jacksonville for 31 years.
Paul was a veteran of WWII, having served in the US Army and spent his entire career with L&N and CSX as an accountant. He has been active in several churches serving as clerk, Sunday school teacher and choir member. He is currently a member of Hogan Baptist Church.
He is survived by his son Ronald Spencer (Sharon), sister Shirley Taylor (Jim), grandchildren Laura Harrison, Kimberly Boucher (Chris) and great-grandchildren Rachel, Logan, Kenzie, Lucas and Levi, and a loving friend, Vera Gossett.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Wednesday, August 10 at Greenlawn Chapel, 4300 Beach Blvd. Funeral service will be 11am Thursday, August 11, also at Greenlawn Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hogan Baptist Church or Southpoint Baptist Church.
