Peter G. Kelley passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2013, at 9:18 a.m. at home with family by his side. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Helen Kelley; his brother Joseph; and his sister JoAnn.
Peter is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary Sue Kelley. He is also survived by his three children, Karen (Tony) Rigoni, Peter (Sue) Kelley, and Mary (Paul) Wohlgemuth; grandchildren Peter, Adam, Matthew, and Thomas Kelley, and Andrew, Meghan, and Abigail Wohlgemuth; and one brother Bill Kelley.
Peter was born on June 15, 1926, in Early, Iowa. After serving two terms in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and the Korean War, he graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Civil Engineering. Then he began his long career in building roads and bridges across the mid-west and Florida. If you wanted to talk roads, bridges, heavy equipment or dirt, he was your guy. His hard working spirit, devotion, and Catholic traditions live on in his wife, children, and grandchildren.
