

Phillip T. Whittington, 48, longtime resident of Jacksonville, passed away June 8, 2013. He was born in St. Louis, MO, son of Robert Whittington and Lynn (Jordan) Estes. Phillip moved with his family to Kentucky and attended North Hardin High School.
He started his plumbing business after working for the city of Jacksonville for 18 years. An avid hunter, he also enjoyed all water sports.
In addition to his parents he is survived by three children, Krysten (Gus) Evans , Brittany (Adam) Hedrick , Hannah Whittington, grandchildren, Ethan Evans, Carson Hedrick, Tucker Evans, Jacob Hedrick, William Hedrick, McKenzie Moseley, three siblings, Terri (James) Matlock, Curt Whittington and Maegan (Dominic) Arduini, his ex-wife, Doris DeBenedictis, girlfriend Wendy Haggard, stepdaughter, Amber Cleary and step-grandson, Jaxon Long and many dear friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, June 13, 2013 from 7 – 9 pm at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 4115 Hendricks Ave., Jacksonville, FL 32207. The funeral will be at 10:30 AM on Friday, June 14, 2013 in the chapel at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207.
