

SPENCERRaymond J. “Chip” Spencer, 51, passed away suddenly on Saturday morning July 31, 2010 as the result of an accident. Chip was born in Lewiston, Maine on September 20, 1958 and attended schools in Bangor, Maine. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and had lived in Jacksonville since 1980. He worked for many years as a Registered Nurse at Baptist Medical Center Downtown and most recently was working for the Putnam County Medical Center. He was along time member of AA. Chip truly loved his children and grandchildren. He was a very caring, sensitive, reliable and funny man who always had a joke to share. Chip’s laugh will be greatly missed, as will his wonderful cooking and love of swimming and the water. Survivors include his parents Mr. & Mrs. Raymond J. Spencer, Jr.; daughters, Bethany Spencer Geiger (Jay) and Jordan K. Spencer; a son, Raymond G. “Gabe” Spencer; the mother of his children and best friend, Robyn Bryan Spencer; mother-in- law and friend, Mary Jo “GiGi” Smith; sister, Bethany Austin (Dave); brother, Scott Spencer (Peggy); grandchildren, Kaylin, Ellie and Jase Geiger, and Blaiden Spencer; 4 nephews and many wonderful and loving friends. The family will receive friends for a visitation and viewing from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday August 4, 2010 at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd. Funeral services will be on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home with military honors.
