

Richard was born on December 16, 1949 to Alton Dwight Parker and Ruth Louise Parker. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as an older brother Alton Dwight Parker, Jr. He is survived by his younger brother, Edward Allen Parker. He graduated form Forrest High School, growing up in Jacksonville. He resided in Arlington at the time of his death. He lived for many years at Jacksonville Beach, which he remembered very fondly.
As a young man he undertook a study of the Bible and embraced the faith of being one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Bible principles guided his life decisions up to the time of his death, enabling him to maintain his faith through many of life's challenges.
Richard also enjoyed bluegrass music and had learned how to play the banjo, and adopted the description of "banjoman". He enjoyed attending many bluegrass festivals. Richard remained single throughout his life and retired from the State of Florida in a clerical role visiting healthcare providers.
His family and friends recall his modest, unselfish interest in others, as well as his fondness for pets. His memory stimulates all to love Jehovah, the grand Creator, with ones whole heart and mind and soul.
