Richard “Ricky” Sarkees, age 73, of St. Augustine Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, June 28, 2016. Ricky was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 9, 1943. He was a kind, generous, gentle and humorous man who adored his family and never met a stranger. He loved fishing and will remain in our hearts forever as one of the greatest fishermen of all time. He was an owner-operator for Landstar Ranger for 25 years and drove well over a million safe miles.
Ricky was preceded in death by his father, Albert “Shorty” Sarkees. He is survived by his loving mother, Mabel; brother, Abdo (Michele); sister, Christine (Gary); nephews, Rodney, Richard, Jason (Lesley); niece, Stephanie (Matthew); great nieces, Lily and Ashley; great nephews, Richard Jr., and Luke, along with numerous loving cousins, friends and other relatives.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207
