
Richard “Ricky” Jay Wolfson, age 71, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, November 16, 2014. Ricky was born on December 31, 1942 in Jacksonville, Florida to parents, Hazel M. Wolfson and the late Saul Wolfson.
In addition to his loving mother, Hazel; Ricky is survived by his adored wife, Lesley, of 50 years; his children, Felicia JoAnn Sias (Michael), Scott Alan Wolfson and Jeffrey Mark Wolfson; seven grandchildren, Maggie, Chloe, Richard Maxwell, Devon, Saul, Madison, Bella, great-grandson, Evan; sister, Maura Wolfson-Foster; brother, Donald (Karen) Wolfson; many other loved family members, life-long friends and a furry Maltese, Killer. Sweet and dear, Ricky was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and an especially caring friend.
A man with notable business and civic endeavors, Ricky was president of Scott Distributors, president of U.S. Flange & Pipe Fitting, vice-president of Global Sports, and co-founder of Lason Southeast and Carperks. He was a founding director of The JCA, founding director of Mount Carmel Gardens, a member of the Wolfson Family Foundation and Ahavath Chesed; a graduate of both Landon High (’60) and the University of Georgia (’64).
Funeral services will be held at eleven o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, Florida with Rabbi Joshua Lief and Rabbi Michael Matuson, officiating.
