Rima Cadoura Mousa passed away peacefully on Friday, September 26, 2025. Rima was born in Ramallah, Palestine on March 7, 1947, to her parents, the late Khalil Jeries Cadoura and the late Yasmine Eadeh Cadoura.
On May 17, 1964, she married her devoted and loving husband, Freddie Easa Mousa in Ramallah. Shortly after marriage, Rima and Freddie moved to Corpus Christi, Texas, then in 1968, they followed other family members and moved to Jacksonville, Florida. Together, they raised three children and were blessed with seven grandchildren.
Rima was a devoted, loving mother and wife who spent her early years raising her children. Later, with her husband, they owned and operated Flip’s Sandwich Shop, a staple lunch spot located on Justina Road in Jacksonville. Later in life, Rima spent 20 years working for the Mayo Clinic as an Arabic translator. In her free time, she loved being with her sisters and other family members, traveling and enjoying time spent with her children and grandchildren.
Rima was a devoted member to the Ramallah American Club of Jacksonville and a founding parishioner of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church. A proud Palestinian, Rima enjoyed celebrating her Arabic heritage and traditions.
Rima is predeceased by her husband, Freddie Easa Mousa; and her sisters, May (the late Zohair) Mardini, Doris Saman, and Abla (the late Jack) Mousa. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia (Jasem) Al-Shamlan and Sandra (Salem) Farhat; her son, Steven (Tiffany) Mousa; her grandchildren, Gabriela, Olivia, and Victoria Farhat, Yousef and Dimah Al-Shamlan, and Brody and Makenzie Mousa; her sisters, Muna (the late Isa) Farhud, Hanan (the late Fahed) Iwais, Samia (George) Eadeh and Carolin (Bassam) Mardini; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews and extended family members.
The family will hold visitation from 9:30 am to 10:30 am on Friday, October 3rd, 2025 followed by a funeral service, presided over by the Very Reverend Archpriest Dr. Fr. Kamal Al-Rahil. All visitation and funeral services will be held at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 6300 Bowden Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32216. A graveside committal will be held at Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32207 immediately following the funeral service.
