
Bob, or Captain Bob as he is known to his friends, was born in Johnstown, PA on May 29, 1942.He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. He was a naval aviator from 1963-1972. As a lieutenant, he piloted A-4 and A-7 aircraft during that time, and was active in the Seven Day War of 1967. He was stationed aboard the USS Kennedy and USS Saratoga.
During his life, he was a general contractor, before procuring his 100 ton Captain’s license. He was at his happiest on the sea. He was a delivery captain at the time of his death.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Burrell Board (Betsy). Other survivors include his sister-in-law Martha Foster, brothers Jackson, Richard, and Charles Board, sisters Eleanor Muchesko and Barbara Muncert.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Hardage-Giddens, 729 Edgewood Ave South, Jax. Fl 32205. A Celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. April 22, 2014 at the Ortega River Club, 4165 Lakeside Dr, Jacksonville, FL 32210.
