
He graduated from Emory University in Georgia. Robert was a member of the Louisville Conference, United Methodist Church from 1955 serving at Shepherdsville, Horse Cave and Louisville where he was an assistant minister to the largest Methodist church in Kentucky. He then transferred to the Florida Conference in 1967 to continue over 37 years of service with the Methodist Church. His service began at College Park UMC, Orlando (1967); Asbury, Orange Park (1968); Calvary, Sarasota (1970); Wesley, Miami (1976); St. Mark’s, Jacksonville (1977); Grace, Jacksonville (1982); Wesley, Jacksonville (1986-88).
Pastor Bob enjoyed painting, gardening, walking his beloved dog, Mandy, socializing with neighbors and was known for his pie mak¬ing. He was a family man who adored his wife Rose (2012), family celebrations and above all God. He brought many to Christ and continued writing back and forth to many former mem¬bers.
Robert is survived by his children, son Bob, Jr.; daughter, Debra Milby and partner Betsy Harris; a brother, Aaron Wayne Milby (Jeanette) and sister, Barbara Dalton. Bob leaves behind grandchildren Dominik and Annika Milby, their mother Sigrid Milby and her spouse Felix To¬mys of Germany. Also surviving are stepsons Bobby Jones and Christopher Jones (Christine). Surviving nephews; Mike Milby (Rosemary), Leon Lewis Jr., Steven Lewis. Nieces; Lisa Dal¬ton Lambert (Don) and Sonya Lewis Orbeson (Johnny).
A Celebration of his life by Rev. Richard Petry and Rev. Mary Holiday will take place at the First United Methodist Church, 225 E. Du¬val St., Jacksonville, FL at 11 a.m. on Friday October 28, 2016. Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd. assisting the family.
