Dear Amy, I am so sorry for your loss. Robert was such a good caring man. I will forever be thankful to you and Robert for the friendship, the care and love you gave to my brother Kenny. I understand why Kenny always said Robert was his very best friend and when I met y'all I can see why he loved y'all so much. I know Kenny was waiting at the gate with open arms. Robert will be missed by many but his memory will always be with us. I have been honored to have met you both. I pray God will be giving you strength as each day goes by. Peace be with you, Amy. Forever grateful to you both, Carol Bartchlett

Friends from our childhood at St. Matthews then staying connected through our early 40’s, it is hard to learn you are now gone. Many, many memories of what we experienced together including those with our other close friends as well.
Amy, little Robert, Carl, Sr., Nancy, Russell & Lou Anne, Carl, Jr. and Ray our deepest sympathy for your loss. As his Wife, Son, Dad, Mom and Brother, be assured Robert has now moved on to a better place. He is above and his eternal love will remain with you all.
May God bless you with all his wonderful memories.

So many memories. I have been friends with Robert almost my whole life. He helped me so many times when I was feeling sorry for myself during the 2008 meltdown. I would even tell him his health issues and positive take on it all made me realize how shelfish I was. As for my earliest memory Robert and Russell stayed over on a school night due to a family emergency. We all attended St. Matthews . The next morning my mom asked Robert cereal or eggs to which he replied both. She laughed but agreed, to which she always recalled the incident. I think cereal and eggs sounds good again. Mom let him have seconds. Love you Bob. Thanks for making my life richer and may God bless your family and help them celebrate the memories of a life well lived.

We moved to Florida after retiring in 2011. Right after getting there, we met Robert and Amy who lived in the same RV Park we moved into. Robert and Amy were kind people who took us in like they had known us all their lives. Robert was always a little quiet, but when he said something it was always very funny. We had many fun times with Robert and Amy and will forever cherish their friendship. To say Robert's passing was a surprise would be an understatement. Robert was always full of life and after a near-death experience in the fire, he lived every day like it was his last. We will miss seeing Robert and talking to him on the phone, but we know he is in Heaven driving around that racetrack in the sky with the likes of Dale Earnhardt Sr. RIP our friend and we love you.

I knew Robert from our time at JAX Raceways. He was always a great competitor, and became a good friend. Words cannot express the sorrow we all feel. To the family, always remember, as long as his memory is alive, he is still with us. God bless you, and Godspeed, my friend.

Amy, we are thinking of you constantly and praying for strength and guidance through this heartbreaking loss. We have so many memories of Robert and Amy. Robert was made our sons godfather. Robert always called Braydon " his little buddy". He took me to the doctor many times when I was pregnant since my husband could not afford to miss days off of work with a new baby on the way. We have shared so many stories and laughter until we cried with both Amy and Robert. Meeting them and becoming friends with them made it easier to live in a city where I didn't grow up or know my way around. I am thankful for the friendship that started and blossomed so much. You will be missed so much Robert. We love you Amy. You are loved by so many as Robert was. Thank you to both of you for being amazing friends in our lives.

You have left us way too soon. You were special in our lives. You and Amy shared lots of fun times in life with us. Racing was all of our passion and we are so glad you and your family became our family in the process. You will forever be our Bert and we will miss you. We never knew when we were at LakeShore Ball Park so long ago just being crazy kids that we would later reconnect and become great friends. We love you Bert we will see you later my friend, save us a spot.

When Robert was racing at Jax Raceway I would hold a board over the fence to show him which cars were behind him. I had such fun helping him in any way I could.
He was a great man, soft spoken and gentle. I will always remember him with a smile.
Amy, Robert, Jr, Carl, Sr, Nancy, Russell, Carl, Jr, Ray and all other family members I pray God will give you comfort and peace during this time. May your memories of Robert bring you joy and happiness.
Gone to soon. All my love.
