Robert Lewis Reed, 73, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2017. Mr. Reed was a native of West Point, Georgia and has resided in Jacksonville for over 50 years. Mr. Reed was an entrepreneur, owning several small businesses. In his free time he enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family. Robert was preceded in death by his wife Gloria Reed and sister Mary Jackson. Survivors include his six children: Verlinda Mcbride (Otis), Belinda Stocker Douglas, Selena Heard, Terrence Reed (Jaran), Lindsay Burdette (Robert) and Kindsay Reed; two sisters, Myrtice Milton and Joyce Jackson; three brothers, Nathaniel Heard, Glen Heard, and Steven Heard; 11 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, along with other loving family and dear friends. A memorial celebration will be held at 11:00 am Saturday August 19th in the chapel of Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 1426 Rowe Avenue. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 am.
