Robert received his 2nd degree Black Belt in 2011. A Nidon Black Belt judo expert, he was a world champion bronze medalist in 2005. Robert loved photography and was an accomplished musician and composer on acoustical guitar as well as the mandolin. He was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Jacksonville Beach and a graduate of Bishop Kenny class of 1992.
Surviving are his loving wife, Sarah, beloved son Benjamin James, his parents, Rafael “Sandy” O. and Martha Rachel Santiago, a sister, Michelle Lee Santiago, a brother, Ryan Allan Santiago, his in-laws, Rev. Dr. James Balke and wife Julie, brother-in-law Chris Balke (Isabel) grandmother Emilia Ortiz Santiago, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 10 from 5 – 8 pm with a prayer service at 8 pm at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1423 8th Ave. North, Jacksonville Beach 32250. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 11 at 11 am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 1649 Kingsley Ave., Orange Park, FL. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL.
