Ron was born in Jacksonville, FL but spent the majority of his young adult life in Jackson, GA. Ron returned to Jacksonville where he met the love of his life, Diane, and built a strong family.
Above all, Ron was a family man, instilling his work ethic, family values, and passion for sports in to his sons. For the better part of twenty years Ron balanced a demanding career, family life, practice schedules and games for all three sons. He was Dad first and Coach Ron second.
Ron was a die-hard fan of the Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Braves, Jacksonville Jaguars, and his grandsons' little league teams. You could always count on him to be cheering from the sidelines or rooting for his team on the T.V. His enthusiasm for sports is a legacy his sons and grandchildren will carry with them.
He leaves his wife of 41 years, Diane (Hodges) Acree; his three sons, Jay (Sheila), Alex (Michelle), and Michael; his seven grandchildren; Caeson, Logan, Savannah, Harper, Damien, Emma and Jonathan; and many close friends and extended family.
A Celebration of Ron’s life will be held at 10:00 am, on Saturday, November 9th, at the Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 11801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32223, with Pastor Andy Hirko officiating.
