Ronald Lester Hamilton passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026, at the age of 88. A devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Ronnie was the steady foundation of his family and a man whose life reflected deep faith, honorable service, and a genuine love for those around him.
First and always, Ronnie was a family man. He loved being a father and took great pride in watching his family grow through the generations. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a constant source of joy. When his grandchildren were young, he would greet them with his familiar words, “Give me a hug, a kiss, and a five,” or ask with a smile, “Did you make an A or a 100 today?” These small moments reflected the warmth, encouragement, and love he so freely gave.
Ronnie’s faith guided his life and shaped the man he was. He believed deeply in God’s promises and lived out his faith through kindness, humility, and service to others. He trusted the Lord in every aspect of his life, leaving behind a legacy rooted in faith that will continue through his family for generations to come.
Ronnie proudly served his country in both the United States Air Force and the Florida Air National Guard. He rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Florida Air National Guard and retired after 40 years and 6 months of combined military service. His career was marked by dedication, integrity, and quiet leadership. He believed in leading by example and serving with humility, always placing duty and responsibility above recognition. He loved sharing stories of his time in the military and would gladly talk to anyone and everyone about his service and his years at the Guard.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at HarborChase of Mandarin for their kindness, care, and support, which brought comfort and dignity to Ronnie and his family.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Margaret Hamilton; his grandson, Zachary S. Touchton; and his brother, Donald Hamilton.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Sandra Hamilton; his loving children, Vickie (Robert) Touchton, Julie (Rob) Gordon, and Melodie (Terry) Cannon; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and his brothers, Kenneth (Faye) Hamilton and Scott (Stefanie) Hamilton.
Ronnie’s life was one of faithfulness—to God, to family, and to country. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
“Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.”
