Mrs. Ruby Mobley 88, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away peacefully at her home on October 31, 2020 after a long, extended illness. She was born in O’Brien Florida on March 30, 1932 to her parents, Thomas Sr. and Merle Fletcher and was the youngest of 3 children.
Ruby is survived by two sons, Roger and Floyd (Michelle) Mobley, 1 great grandchild, Kelly Dawson and 3 grandchildren, Gena (Chad) Dawson, Emily and Brandon Mobley. Along with countless other nieces, nephews and cousins.
After High School, Ruby attended Stetson University in Deland, Florida and worked in the medical field as a X-ray Technician until her retirement in 1994. Ruby enjoyed talking with friends and family, she also loved being outside, spending her time working in her yard and gardening, she truly had multiple green thumbs and probably some green toes as well. She could grow anything! Ruby also liked to travel, especially to the mountains in and around North Carolina and Tennessee.
She was a loving person, with a warm smile and friendly personality and was known by all in her neighborhood simply as Mrs. Ruby. She was also a long time member of Southside Baptist Church and spent time volunteering at the church and with other organizations in Jacksonville, unselfishly donating her time to help brighten the day for someone else. Ruby will be deeply missed.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents Thomas Sr. and Merle Fletcher, brother Thomas Fletcher Jr., sister Joyce Wright, husband Floyd Sr. and two sons Bryan and Marshall Mobley.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her memory to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida Foundation. Arrangements are under the care and direction of HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME OF MANDARIN, 11801 San Jose Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32223.
