Energetic and passionate, Rush Hampton Smith had a genuine love of life and a determined spirit. When told no one could learn to ride a unicycle in a day, he persevered to prove it wrong. He loved challenges, loved to try new things especially if it involved climbing high or jumping off of tall perches. He demonstrated a caring spirit to friends and customers alike. Working at Fisherman's Dock he plunged into learning everything about seafood and its preparation. At Chick Fil A, he was a supportive team member committed to keeping orders filled with accuracy and speed. But his favorite recent employment opportunity was working with the family-owned Graston Custom Roofing. He found the work challenging and loved the camaraderie of doing a task as a team that involved great physical strength and endurance, working in high temperatures and at great heights.
Rush, 19, passed away on Friday, June 4th, surrounded by his family following a week long fight for his life after injuries sustained in a car wreck.
