Russell Kendrick Lewis

Born in Waynesburg, Kentucky, on September 25, 1934, he is remembered with love by his wife of 64 years, Mary Lou Lewis; his sons, Bradley J. Lewis and Steven K. Lewis; his daughter, Angela M. Capling; his wonderful grandchildren, Kevin Lewis, Kyle Lewis, and Mia Capling; as well as his sisters-in-law, Lynn Lewis and Cheryl Lewis, and many nieces and nephews.

Russ was preceded in death by his parents, James Albert Lewis and Laura McGuffey; his sisters, Betty Combs, Christine Lewis, and Lorraine Bowen; and his brothers, James (Jim), Franklin, Donald, and Ray Lewis.

Russ was a devoted husband and father who cherished his family above all else. A lifelong sports enthusiast, he was especially passionate about Kentucky basketball and found great joy and relaxation on the golf course, where he spent countless happy hours with friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, his family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

A visitation will be held at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home PA, located at 940 Cesery Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32211, on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

The funeral mass will be held in his honor at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 11665 Fort Caroline Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32225, on Thursday, December 18, 2025, starting at 10:30 am.

The committal service will be held at 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218, following the funeral mass.
