Ruth Sauter Edwards

She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years Charles H. Edwards, her father Fred (in 1938), her mother Mary Sauter Jones, her stepfather Leslie A. Jones, her sister Mary Jean Raaf, her stepsisters Marjorie Council and BobbyJo Didier, and her stepbrother Leslie Jones Jr.

She is survived by her sons, Charles F. (Allison) Edwards of Tallahassee, William H. (Marcia) Edwards and James R. (Deborah) Edwards of Jacksonville; 4 grandchildren, Marissa (T.J.) Alcantra, Andrew (Amber) Edwards, Patrick (Angela) Edwards, Kaitlin Edwards; a step-grandson Scott (Kellin) Girard; a nephew David (Roxie) Raaf, a niece Laura Pfiefer; and 9 great-grandchildren.

She was a longtime member of Arlington Presbyterian Church where she was an elder, a volunteer in their Meals on Wheels program, a member of Presbyterian Women, and had been awarded an Honorary Lifetime Membership in Presbyterian Women U.S.A. She had been a Cub Scout den mother for her three sons, a past president of Arlingwood Garden Circle, a Life Member of Garden Club of Jacksonville, and a member of Florida Chapter H of P.E.O. Sisterhood.

Visitation will be on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 10:00 AM with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32211. A graveside service will be held at Palmetto Cemetery, Palmetto, FL on Friday, April 18, 2025, at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Arlington Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice.
