

Sallie or Ruby as she was affectionately known, was born in Cuthbert, Georgia on February 15, 1940 to Bonnie and Loree Rogers. The Rogers family later moved to Jacksonville, FL with Sallie attending the local public schools.
She married Mr.Samuel Williams in 1966, becoming a mentor and mother to many. Mrs. Williams was a long time supporter of the Breast Cancer Awareness drive, having battled the disease the last 25 years of her lifetime. She never complained or asked, "Why me?" She approached her illness with bravery and grace. She inspired everyone in her life to live each day to the fullest. Evenduring rapidly declining health, she was known to give a word of encouragement to everyone that she met.
She's predeceased in death by her parents: Bonnie and Loree Rogers, 2 sisters: Virginia and Dorothy, and three brothers: Edward, Willie C and Jimmy Rogers.
She was a faithful member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Aloysious Denard up until the time of her passing.
Mrs. Williams leaves to cherish her memory: Husband of 48 years Mr. Samuel Williams,stepchildren: Priscilla Williams, Sammy (Melissa) Spann, grand niece Taylor M. Wright, 2 grandchildren: Jada and Joi Spann, sister Gladys Spates, sister-in-law Linda Webb, several nieces, nephews, family members and sorrowing friends.
