

Sara received a B.A. Degree in Mathematics from Columbia College in 1946, where she was president of the student body and Valedictorian of her graduating class. Upon graduation she became an executive with the Girl Scouts of America. In 1949, she married Chauncey W. Lever and this past January she celebrated her 63rd wedding anniversary.
She was a much beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was very active in her church, and served in many leadership, teaching and administrative roles. She was always helping others who were in need. She was also very active in P.E.O. Sisterhood Chapter AY, where she served in a number of capacities. She made a significant, positive difference in the lives of many, was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.
Sara is survived by her husband, Chauncey, three children, The Reverend Rachel B. Lever of Palm Beach Gardens, Chauncey W. Lever, Jr. and his wife Martha of Jacksonville, and The Reverend Dr. Charles C. Lever and his wife Xiomara of Vero Beach, grandchildren Macaulay Lever White and her husband Marc, Zachry C. Lever, Charles C. Lever, Jr. and C. Chapman Lever, great grandchildren Marc A. White, Jr. and Morgan M. White, brother Dr. Charles E. Cauthen, Jr. and his wife Hazel, and their children and grandchildren, and many other loving family members.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at Southside United Methodist Church, 3120 Hendricks Ave., Jacksonville, Florida 32207, with a reception immediately following the service at the church.
