Born in Glennville, Georgia November 8, 1934 and passed in St Vincent’s Hospice Care February 19, 2019. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Morton LeFils, Jr and son Thomas Morton LeFils, III and brother Robert Fussell.
Shirley is survived by her sister Betty Schneider. Her son, Ivey (Gerry) LeFils and his wife Victoria LeFils. Grandsons Robert LeFils, John LeFils and his wife Kayla. Granddaughters Susan LeFils Tiencken and her husband Nasan, Amber LeFils, and Patricia LeFils.
Great grandsons Darren LeFils, Nasan Tiencken Jr and Eastan Tiencken. Great granddaughters Kylie LeFils and Sidney LeFils. Numerous nieces and nephews of whom she loved dearly.
She graduated from Robert E Lee High School Class of 1953. Married Thomas Morton LeFils, Jr., May 11, 1957. She was a member of VFW Women’s Auxiliary and the American Legion Post 137.
She worked at Prudential Insurance Company, owned her own ceramic shop, delivered papers, bartended at Lake Shore bar, volunteered at Senior Citizens Hyde Park, organized Lee High class reunions for many years, volunteered in the concession at Murray Hill Park. She mentored hundreds of kids through the years and opened her home to people in need of food and shelter.
