

Our dear mother Sleetia Kelsey went home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 25th, 2023 at the age of 76. As a daughter of Christ she used her many talents as an artist through various mediums including painting, spinning and knitting. She was passionate about painting starting with landscapes and wildlife while enjoying nature, eventually becoming a portrait artist and owning her own studio. She also enjoyed spinning and knitting, making clothing for both family and charity. Sleetia has always been active in her community from being a girl scout in her youth to becoming a scout leader to her daughters and later volunteering in the local art community. She was also an active member of her church throughout her life and was involved in supporting missionaries in their work.
Sleetia Kelsey was preceded in death by her husband Donald Kelsey Jr and survived by: her Fur babies Maggie and Mona; children, Regina (David) Zurcher, Wanda Scarbrough, Jeremy (Sharon) Kelsey, Lisa (Frank) Eck; grandchildren, Hunter Aflleje, Kimberly Kelsey, Catherine Zurcher, Kevin Kelsey, Brock Aflleje, Joshua Zurcher; siblings Wanda (Ron) Fooks, John (Carol) Stokes; nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
A visitation for Sleetia will be held Friday, December 1, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel, 4801 SAN JOSE BLVD, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32207. A funeral service will occur Friday, December 1, 2023 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM, 4801 SAN JOSE BLVD, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32207. A committal service will occur Friday, December 1, 2023 from 2:45 PM to 3:00 PM at Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207. A reception will occur Friday, December 1, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, 4801 SAN JOSE BLVD, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32207.
