Spiros Hadjieseoglou, aged 84, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2025 following a brave fight against Parkinson’s Disease. Born January 8, 1941, in Piraeus, Greece to Seraphim and Christina, Spiros was a devoted husband to Nancy and a loving father to daughters Kelly Clemons and Susan Kreag. He was a marine engineer and travelled the world until his ship was delayed in Jacksonville. He fell in love with the city and the Greek community and decided to make his home here. He opened a successful ship chandler business and was a proud American citizen; when not working he cherished spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, six grandchildren, and one great grandchild. He also has one sister, Alexandra, and three nephews living in Greece. He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Maria.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at 11AM with a visitation beginning at 10:30AM at St. John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church, 12760 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32246 with The Reverend Dr. Nicholas G. Louh officiating. Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Blvd Jacksonville, FL 32207.
