Stanley and Ruth Barrows

Stanley L. Barrows, 80, passed away on June 7, 2013. Born in Milford, MA to the late Stanley E. and Sadie Wren Barrows, he was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

A veteran of the US Navy, Stanley worked as a Mechanical Engineer within the Petro Chemical industry for 40 years before he retired. He was a member, as well as a dedicated Deacon with San Juan del Rio Catholic Church. He was a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. He loved helping people, spending time with his family, and serving the Lord.

Stanley is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Ruth S. Barrows; children, Mike Barrows (Rita), Dottie Barrows Butler (Stan), Patti Barrows Stafford (John), Linda Barrows Toucey (Keith), and Nancy Barrows Waldron (David); brother, Robert Barrows (Marilyn); sisters, Dotty Barrows Kirby (David) and Edith Barrows Rehbein (Roy); grandchildren, Kirsten, Ryan, Keith, Bradley, Megan, Christopher, Kristina, Matthew, Tommy, Phillip, and Jessica; great grandchildren, Hailey, Logan, Emma, Nick, Evan, Adam, Kai, and Ella; along with many other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday (today), June 10th with Vigil Prayers at 7:30 p.m. in San Juan del Rio Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11th in San Juan del Rio Catholic Church, 1718 State Road 13, St. Johns, FL 32259 with Father John Tetlow as Celebrant.

Memorial contributions may be made in Stanley’s name to VITAS Hospice or to San Juan del Rio Family Center Building Fund.
