Sue M. Windham, 92, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 26, 2021. She was born in Golden Valley, NC and moved to Miami, FL in the early 1950s where she met her husband, Donald M. Windham. They were married for 40 years before he passed away in 1995. She was a graduate of Barry University and was employed by the Dade County Schoolboard, where she was Director of Payroll.
After retiring, she and her husband relocated to Jacksonville in 1993. She was a member of Deermeadows Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; parents Claude and Estelle (Propes) Melton; brother Ray and sister-in-law Martha Melton, and brother Fred Melton.
She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Windham of West Palm Beach, FL; son, Donald Windham of Jacksonville, FL; nephew David Melton, grand-niece, Summer Melton and grand-nephew, Corbin Melton.
A service to honor Sue will be held Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Legacy Lodge, 4801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207. Visitation will start at 12:00 p.m. with a graveside service immediately following at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.
