I loved my Aunt Sybil visited her in 2001 but talked to her often. May she rest in peace now with no more pain.

I am Margaret Ann (Ponder) Maisel and "Aunt Sybil" as we were taught to call her, was the baby sister of my father, Fred Ponder (deceased). This message is coming from me and my older sister, Dorothy. I only had the opportunity to meet Aunt Sybil once when I was a very young child, as my family moved from Texas to California when I was only 6 years old. However, as I grew up, I only heard great things about her from my family, mostly my mother, sister and brothers. My siblings were in her age category and I got to see lovely pictures of her when she was young and she was so very pretty. My sister and I both talked with Aunt Sybil via telephone on a few occasions prior to her becoming so ill and I was very sorry to hear of her passing. My only sister, Dorothy (Ponder) Boom, Clark and I are the only ones left in the Ponder family lineage of our generation. I just wish I could have known her more personally. Someday I will, in the earth made new by our loving Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus. I loved you Aunt Sybil, even though I didn't have the chance to really get to know you. Sybil was my next door neighbor for many years up until her passing. I got to know her better than any of my other neighbors, she was a wonderful lady. I'll miss our talks on her front porch.It was hard seeing her lose Don and Mark. But she persevered, and I told her she was going to outlive us all. She came close. May she rest in peace.

Sybil was a wonderful caretaker AND friend of my mother, Doris Wilson.  They shared photo books of "the good ole days" and looked like sisters.  She became a good friend to me as well and will be sorely missed.  With deepest sympathy to her family, Valerie Stephenson
