Kay was born to the late Eunice (Pickett) Grigg and Harrison Pickett in Jacksonville, Florida. She is survived by the love of her life, Roger Millo, her sister, Linda Johnson (Malcolm), 5 children, Rebecca Schoonmaker (Jack), Bill Speiser (Erica), Frank Millo (Melissa), Jane Peterson (Eric), Arthur Roy, 16 grandchildren, and two great-grand-daughters with another on the way, and was preceded into Heaven by one grandson, all of whom she loved and doted upon.
Kay graduated from Jean Ribault High School, and proudly worked in a variety of Customer Service, Training and Leadership positions at Jacksonville International Airport’s Fixed Based Operations (Air Kaman and Signature Flight Support) for more than 30 years. She was dedicated to her customers and co-workers, and was the recipient of multiple commendations for outstanding service over her career. She coordinated a number of initiatives to raise funds for Give Kids the World, a cause that was very dear to her heart.
Kay loved animals with the same passion and fervor that she loved her family, friends and Church community, and rescued many animals over the years, both domestic and wild.
She loved the Lord with all of her heart and her faith was an inspiration to others. A devout Catholic and prayer warrior, Kay was an active member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church for more than 40 years. She exemplified Christ’s call to The Corporal Works of Mercy, and donated considerable time, talent and treasure to helping others throughout her life.
