Tommy was born to the late Thomas and Irine Auston Gilmore in Jacksonville, Florida; which is where he grew up and joined the Army soon after graduating high school. After his honorable discharge, he pursued a career as an electrician (which he excelled at). Tommy later met and married Christelle, whom he loved and adored for the rest of his life. In 1957, they adopted their baby son Mark. In 1975, Tommy became the Training Director for the IBEW Apprenticeship School and remained a faithful employee until his retirement.
Tommy was a very devoted husband and father. He was an assistant coach for Mark's baseball team, and frequently took the family out for vacations and fun-filled lake weekends with family and friends in Keystone Heights.
He is survived by his son Mark and daughter-in-law Pam; his niece Cindy Walker and her husband Tom; and cherished family friends Brenda, John, and Debbie (who provided him much comfort and company in his latter years).
