Vincent J. Shea

Vincent Jeremiah Shea, a resident of Hampton Park, Jacksonville, FL, passed away on June 17, 2009. Vincent was born April 8, 1939 in Woodside, NY. He attended Long Island University and received a B.S. in accounting. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church since 1970, where he served as president of the parish council, member of the church’s finance committee and served as a reader and a Eucharistic minister during church services. In addition, he was also active on the board of directors for L’Arche Harbor House for over twenty years. Over the last thirty-eight years, Vincent has worked for many local Jacksonville companies including: the Charter Corporation (10 years), LCI Ltd. (10 years), and Sheldrick, McGehee & Kohler (7 years). Vincent is survived by his wife Carol Ann Shea, his son Vincent Jeremiah Shea II, his sister Kathleen Newerla, his brother John Shea and thirteen nieces and nephews.Mass will be celebrated Monday June 22nd at 11:30 AM at Christ The King Catholic Church, 742 N. Arlington Rd. with Msgr. Mortimer Danaher and Fr. Steven Zehler officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 21st from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM with a Rosary being held at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of COREY-KERLIN FUNERAL HOME, 940 Cesery Blvd. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to L’Arche Harbor House, 700 Arlington Road South, Jacksonville, FL 32211. The family thanks the staff of community Hospice.
