

MOOREVIRGIL MOORE, age 79, passed away at home on August 14, 2010 after a long illness. Virgil was born in Woodbine, Ga. at The Lang Plantation to Macon Morton Moore and Duckie Belle (Connell) Moore of Mt. Vernon, Ga. The family moved to Jacksonville, Fl when Virgil was seven years old. Virgil was preceded in death by his loving wife Gwen Robinson Moore, and his only son Virgil “Izzy”, 3 brothers, David, Russell, and Bobby, and 1 sister Cleo Mott Lampe. He will long be remembered by his sister Eloise (Moore) Wiggins age 94, 5 loving daughters Barbara Waller, Sylvia Boyette (Earl), Nancy McMichael (Don), Cynthia Taylor, Sharon Moore (Eddie), 13 Grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and his two faithful dogs. Virgil loved his country and proudly served in the Army Air Corp and was an active Member of American Legion Post #283. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 11:00 at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home at 940 Cesery Blvd, with Richard Bowen officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hills Memory Gardens on St. Johns Bluff Road. The family will receive friends at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home on Friday, August 20, 2010, from 6 until 8 p.m. In lieu of flower, you may wish to make a donation to The Community Hospice Center of NE Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Rd.
