Virginia "Ginny" S. Brunzel

Virginia “Ginny” Brunzel passed away peacefully at home on January 8, 2025 at the age of 101. Ginny was born in Rochester, New York but lived much of her adult life on Long Island, New York after marrying Rudolph “Buddy” Brunzel. Ginny spent her later years in Jacksonville, Florida where she surrounded herself with a large group of friends.

Ginny enjoyed cardmaking, playing games and spending time with friends. Ever the social butterfly, she was always the center of attention. Her sassy personality and willingness to chat with anyone left a huge impression on anyone who met her. Ginny was a devout Catholic and attended church all her life. She is survived by her four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Ginny always said the secret to a long life is a loving family, great friends and a bourbon old fashion. She was the main character in so many memories and will be sorely missed by her family and friends. Ginny is now at peace and is surrounded by her husband, Buddy and her two daughters, Joan and Barbara.

A visitation for Ginny will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens Mandarin Funeral Home, 11801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32223. A funeral mass will follow on Saturday January 25th at 11:00 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 11757 Old St Augustine Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32258.
