William 'Perry' Bane, 75, passed away January 16, 2019 one day shy of his 76th birthday. He was born January 17, 1943 in Dyersburg, Tennessee to the parent of Mr. and Mrs. William Hurtice Bane. After moving to Jacksonville around 1963 he was employed by The Morris Communication Co. (Florida Times Union) for 42 years. While working he completed a 4 year degree from UNF with the 1st graduating class of 1974. In 1965 he joined the US Army and was stationed in Germany as a 1st Lieutenant.
He leaves behind a loving wife of 30 years, Fay Jordan Bane; 2 sons, David (Joann) Bane and Taylor Bane; 1 daughter, Debi (Mike) Wunschel.
After retiring he picked up his old hobbies, first woodworking then photography. Photos of 'Birds from our Back Yard' have been on display at several craft shows around Jacksonville.
A Graveside Service will be held at Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Blvd 32207 at 2:00 pm on Friday Jan. 25, 2019. Rev. Adam Wright will officiate the service. Everyone is invited to a reception at Hardage-Giddens, the Oaklawn Chapel following the service. In lieu of flowers donation can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Rd Suite 300 Jacksonville, FL 32256.
