

William (Bill) Wellington Harris passed away on March 12, 2018 after a brief illness with his family by his side. Bill was born in Jacksonville, FL and remained in the area for most of his life. He was a graduate of Landon High School and Florida State University, where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity and the Seminole Swim Team. Bill remained an avid Seminole fan and was a talented athlete who enjoyed playing tennis and golf throughout his life. He worked for Mac Papers for the majority of his career, where he retired as the General Manager of the Jacksonville Branch in 2006. After retirement, he cherished traveling with his wife and a host of wonderful friends.
Bill left behind his loving wife of 55 years, Patricia (Patsy), along with three sons, William, Jr. (wife Tami), Richard (wife Wendie) and Matthew (wife Nicki) and a daughter, Tracie Thompson (husband Durwood) and nine grandchildren, Drew Harris, Avery Harris, Breck Harris, Logan Harris, Blake Harris, Braeden Harris, Sarah Harris, William Thompson and Harris Thompson. Bill also had a brother, Robert (Bobby) Harris (wife Lori) and a sister, Patricia (Pat) Durham (husband William), as well as his beloved dog, Sadie.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church of Fernandina, 9 North 6th Street, Fernandina Beach, FL 32034, with a reception to follow at the Fernandina Beach Golf Club, located at 2800 Bill Melton Road, Fernandina Beach, FL 32034.
