Bo was one of my managers at Citi Bank for a while, his corner office was directly behind my little cubicle. Whenever he worked the Sunday shift, those were my favorite shifts. Sundays were typically super slow and casual and he would always have his classic rock songs playing and we'd all be singing along and laughing together. I can't even remember a time when he wasn't smiling or laughing. Bo was one of those amazing (and all too rare) people who made it his priority to make people happy. I remember one time when he was singing along to "Here I Go Again" by Whitesnake and I told him that the original line was "like a hobo I was born to walk alone" but they later changed it to "drifter". He immediately found a recording of the original song and played it for us and we all laughed at how silly it sounded. To this day, every time I hear that Whitesnake song, I think of Bo. 🌻 Rock in Paradise my friend.

I saw Bo &  family in his usual spot at mass the Sunday before I heard the news of his passing. I am sad I couldn’t stop to say hello bc my Mom had been rushed to the ER during mass. I regret not exchanging one last set of smiles & good words. I have worked for Citi for 20 yrs & I am grateful to of had the fortune to of worked for Bo in the most recent couple yrs before he was promoted. Bo was always kind, always friendly even before I knew him asked how things are. He was a genuinely good person. May perpetual light shine upon Bo in Heaven. May he rest in peace. Amen. 

                Today I saw a Red Bird

Today as I was sitting in my back yard thinking of my son Bo whom I just lost then suddenly a beautiful red cardinal flew up and landed on the fence very close to me and for a few minutes he just set and stared  at me and then all of a sudden started singing in a crying in a way which I have never heard before  and then sounded like God be with you until we meet again. Then I heard him say don’t be worried everything is ok I am with many family members here helping me with everything
and there are so many saints giving me comfort everyone are just beautiful and so loving.

Dad I will be waiting for you at that long road when we meet again.

 Miss me but let me go because this is just temporary and  God will bring us all together again

When I first met Bo I was nervous because it was a OA meeting, and Id never spoken to him only seen him walking around the floor. Walking into his office and sitting down, ill admit I had that meeting completely planned out another way.... He was all big smiles and easy jokes. I was completely comfortable in the matter of seconds. Before I knew it we where talking about fishing trips and outdoors activities that we enjoyed... He told me that It was funny where life leads you.. I couldn't agree more. Even after that meeting he would stop by my desk and ask me more about any recent fishing I may have done.  I don't think ill ever stop looking for him to tell him my most recent story, and that may not be much but its a lot to me. He will absolutely be missed, and I'm devastated that I was away for his memorial... Rest easy Bo... You'll be missed here at Citi.

When I heard the news that Bo was no longer going to be with us here on Earth, I was stunned.   And still am!!  I had the pleasure of working for Bo for about a year at Citi.  And I never will forget his passion for his craft.  The way he lead his team as a Manager, he always had a way to bring out the best in everybody.   Especially me, he pushed me to do the best I can and taught me a lot about sales.   I will miss seeing him in the halls and near the Cafe, he was always fun to talk to and great to be around.  His personality was very infectious and I wish I would've had more time to speak with him at times.  RIP Mr. Gibbons, we will all see you soon sir up in Heaven.  

We're going to miss you Bo! We could always count on a smile and positivity from you. You will forever be in our hearts. Prayers and comfort to the family during this time. 

The news about Bo was a shock to me. I worked with Bo at Citi and he was my go-to manager when I worked in Retention when my managers were off or unavailable. He was always so thoughtful, funny and helpful. I knew him for many years and will miss him dearly. Bo has left us way too soon and I will truly miss him.

Dear family of Bo and to you dear Bo,
One of my favorite Christian songs has always been Thank You by Ray Boltz. He talks of a dream that he got to Heaven and there was one by one all these people he knew, some he barely knew and others a brief moment in passing helping or asking if help was needed... all of these people came to him one by one and told him how they were lives  were changed because of him. You were a beautiful soul and a heart of gold in MHS, I know your whole life was lived that way. I just hear that song when I think of  you...
"Thank you for giving to the Lord, I was a life that was changed. Thank you for giving to the Lord, I am so glad you gave. "

Thank you so much to everyone who came out today. The amount of love we seen everyone had for Bo was overwhelming it truly warmed our hearts for you all to share your stories of him!  He and I had our first fight early about the [f bomb] chocolate ice cream after that it was only when I disrespected mom. He held our lil family together! Always there to listen and love. But the amount of love he had for my son Preston can never be replaced he taught him so many things and did so many things w him the legos and toy time camping fishing sports music church yard work cooking starting to point out the girls he should like in magazines (😂 hes 9). He was such an amazing person and we love him so. Until we see you again Dad/Bopa

Bo was a truly great guy with a wonderful spirit.   He was a great mentor, peer, and friend to many here at Citi.  There are not many that are universally loved but he was absolutely that guy.    It is truly a testament to his kindness, generosity and magnetic personality that he could befriend folks even in a 30 second elevator ride.    Bo loved his family and would tell us proud stories of his grandchildren all the time.   We bonded over our love of football, music, TV, and just life.  Bo left us way too soon - We will always miss you bud. 

I could always count on Bo to lighten the mood with a good joke and to talk about our favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys. My deepest condolences to Bo Gibbons family during this time. Bo was an amazing person and he will truly be missed. 

I worked with Bo at Citi for many years. He always had a smile on his face and a willingness to assist, no matter what the task. May his family have comfort in knowing that his legacy will live on in the many lives that he touched.

Bo & I worked together at Citi. He will always stand out to me as the master competitor. He loved a good competition and most times ended up in the top spot. His skills went beyond leading his team to top performance. He was a role model to other managers with his kindness, humility, passion & sense of humor. I will remember Bo for his "heart". We had many great long talks where he shared his love for his family. May our Heavenly Father comfort you in this difficult time.

Bo, I could always count on you for honesty...even when I didn't want to hear it.  You demanded the same of everyone else, too.  I will miss our discussions on everything from Retention Policy, agents, Pink Floyd, and Cub Scouts.  Thank you for being such a good man and great manager for the entire 13 years I knew you.  You are loved and missed.

Bo was such a wonderful person.  Always had a smile and kind word.  Was a joy to work with. Also, his dad and my husband worked together.   He will be greatly missed.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time.   Heaven has been blessed with another ANGEL.!

As Bo's father I was so proud of him throughout his life watching him excel in any thing that he ever did from T-ball, Pop Warner football to high school football he was ranked 3rd in the state of Florida during his senior year as wide receiver and graduating top 10% in his class and receiving a scholarship to play collage football at Wingate University in NC and later was one of the assistant football coaches at his high school alma mater Middleburg High School. There are so many great memory's of Bo that I will always cherish. It does makes my heart feel so warm reading the many messages that everyone has posted. Thank you everyone for your kind words. 

Bo, I hope you knew how much we truly cared for you. You had a huge heart, were always willing to help out & were just a genuinely good person. Rest in sweet peace BoPa.

I had the brief honor of working for Bo for only a few months, yet the impact he had on all of us was enormous. From sharing his love for his family, to imparting nuggets of wisdom for success. He will truly be missed.

Bo was a great individual. I only had the pleasure of meeting Bo about 7 months ago but he was always there when you needed someone ether to talk to or to assist in anything.  He was always smiling! He was a true light to us all. Bo will be greatly missed by so many people. My condolences to family for such a loss. 

I only had the pleasure of working with Bo over the past 8 months but the impact he made on me during that time will last a lifetime. We were on a work conference together and at a time when I was missing my son he took the time to console me and share with me about his family. The love that he had for his wife, grandson and family was very deep and showed me the genuinely kind-hearted person that he was. I was blessed to have Bo Cross my path in our work together on Every Day Hero. I will never forget Bo's meetings with his team everyday. He was always encouraging, inspiring and motivating. I enjoyed our times together brainstorming on how we could make hiring and interview processes, tools and artifacts better and how we could attract and retain the best talent available. Bo was always positive, had a great attitude and was willing to try new things. He had a great work ethic and a good perspective. His wisdom and experience helped to make us successful every day. He will be missed.

Bo was a Bright Light in a world that can often be dimmed by the stresses and humdrum of everyday life. He touched so many people's lives through his optimism, passion, energy, and humor! I am so grateful to have had the pleasure of working with him and send my deepest condolences to his family and those who loved him most. He will truly be missed and never forgotten.

Bo touched so many lives.  He was genuine with his interactions, always willing to help anyone and always smiling.  He will be missed. 

Bo was my Manager for a couple years and he actually did my interview for retention many ears back as well. One of the last great ones and he is how we should all emulate to be! You will be missed my friend.

I met Bo when he interviewed me after I moved back to Florida 3 years ago. He was very genuine and supportive. He had a great sense of humor and always made time to say hello and ask how you were doing. I truly enjoyed working with him. I am very sad that I won't be able to pop in to say hi anymore. Prayers go out to his family. Bo will he missed very much.

Not very many people know how to balance the way that Bo Gibbons encouraged you, supported you,  entertained you, laughed with you (sometimes at you),  listened to you & genuinely cared for you while all the time silently leading you by example and pushing you to be your best...  you had all the trades Bo & too many countless memories in that skybox corner window office to count! Missed beyond measure and at peace at last my good friend, God bless your family & all friends during this great time of loss. Bo's Citibank family feels your pain, too.  It's surreal, I always felt you'd always just be there, in your office around the building in the hall or lobby, etc. and now that you're not... the legacy you left us always will.

I am deeply sadden to hear that bo passed. I work with bo for a couple of years as my manager he was great as well a person.  He always made sure  I was ok.  No matter what position he had. I will be praying for his family. We lost a great person.

I didn't know Bo long, but in the couple years I knew him he deeply impacted me. He was a kind and genuine guy who always told the truth. When I was a very young manager among my peers he encouraged me to speak up because he said he believed in me and thought my views were valuable. I'll never forget Bo, he deserved more years on this earth. I know for a fact he impacted many lives at citbank and beyond. God speed sir.

What, I can say about Bo is that he loved his Dallas Cowboys. I remember saying to him if he was related to the Bo Gibbons from ZZ Top (because of the name) and he said no, but I am from Texas. My reply to him, “what a coincidence, I am from South Texas and I am a fan of the Dallas Cowboys too.” Another thing, I can say about Bo, he always there to assist me with any questions I had about doing my job correctly or anything in general and always helpful.  Bo, I can surely see you will be missed and but never forgotten. Thank you for everything Bo. May you rest in peace and in the Lord our heavenly father’s hand. 
 In scripture in Romans 14:8 it says: If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
