Captain William Marshall Gortney, USN (retired), passed away quietly and joined for eternity his loving wife, Gloria, on December 24th, 2020, at Baptist Medical Center South, Community Hospice Center. At his side were their three children; Linda, Candy and Bill.
He is survived by his loving sister, Margret, son-in-laws, Hal and Greg, daughter-in-law, Sherry, grand children, Katie, Beth, Christopher, Billy and Stephanie, and great grand children, Reagan, Gloria, Virginia, Gavin, Grayson, and Jack. He was a Naval Aviator and veteran of World War II, Korea, Vietnam and the Cold War. After retirement he continued to serve his Navy working for Ling-Temco-Vought at NAS Cecil Field, Fla.
Bill and Gloria’s passions were family and golf and they were regulars at Sky Valley, Ga and Eagle Harbor, Fla.
