William A Petty

William (Bill) A. Petty, 85 of Jacksonville passed away on March 30, 2014. He was born on January 15, 1929 in Jacksonville Beach. Bill was 1 of 6 children. He grew up in Jacksonville and graduated from Landon High School. Bill served 8 years in the United States Navy reserve. He retired from Mercedes Benz Corporation of North America. Bill was married to the love of his life Marguerite for 51 years.

He is survived by his son Gill Jones of Middleburg, FL; his 2 daughters Charlene Boyles of Jacksonville, FL and Darlene Kirkland of Louisville, KY; His 2 brothers Robert and Donald Petty of Jacksonville FL; his 7 grandchildren, Todd and Scott Jones, Brooke Coe, Morgan and Kyndall Boyles, Kyle and Garrett Kirkland; his 9 great-grandchildren, Jake, Julie, Joie, Jill, Lucas, Grayson, and Cooper Jones, Summer Coe and Kash Kirkland. Bill is now and forever with his beloved wife Marguerite.

Funeral services will be held in The Oaklawn Chapel at three o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, April 4, 2014. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. HARDAGE-GIDDENS, THE OAKLAWN CHAPEL, 4801 San Jose Boulevard is serving the family.
