

Bill is survived by his wife of 51 years, Terry Richardson; son and daughter-in-law, John and Rosemary Richardson; daughter and son-in-law, Michele and Michael Strunk; three grandchildren, Shane William Strunk, Tamara Ashley Strunk and Ashley Rose Richardson.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Goss Morris.
He Graduated from Baylor School in 1951 and attended Vanderbilt University with an NROTC scholarship, graduating in 1955. After commissioning, he reported to Pensacola, FL for flight training, served one tour of duty with Attack Squadron 195, and left the Navy briefly to acquire a dental degree from the University of Tennessee in Memphis. Returning to active duty in the Navy Dental Corps, he was assigned to the U.S. Naval Dental Clinic, in Yokosuka, Japan. In 1968 and 1969 he served as the Dental Officer for Antarctic Support Activities, McMurdo Station, Antarctica. In 1975 he joined the faculty of the Naval Graduate Dental School at Bethesda, MD, where he served as the chairman of the Comprehensive Dental Department, leaving in 1979 to become the Officer-in-charge of the Navy's School of Dental Assisting and Technology. In 1982 he received orders to become the Officer-in-charge of the Branch Dental Clinics in the United Kingdom, with offices in London. He left London in 1985 to become director of the Branch Dental Clinic at the U.S. Naval Academy. He retired from the Navy in 1989 and lived for 20 years at Boston Branch on Signal Mountain, TN, where he served as a lector and usher at St. Timothy's Episcopal Chruch.
He moved with his wife, Terry to Jacksonville in June of 2009, where they attended the Episcopal Church of Our Saviour.
A graveside service for William will be held Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Church of Our Saviour, 12236 Mandarin Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32223.
