
William Benedict Ryan, Jr., 76, August 14, 2021, Jacksonville, Florida. He was the most loving, kind, intelligent, and compassionate husband, father, attorney, and friend. He was loved by many and will be terribly missed. His generosity is incomparable and his love of helping people will leave a enormous void in our world.
William graduated from Lee High School (1963). University of Florida (1967). Stetson Law School (1972). He was a dedicated attorney for over 40 years. He was a partner of Ryan, Marks and Stromberg, LLP. He was extremely philanthropic and altruistic. He served on the board of Community Hospice Earl B. Hardlow Center for Caring and L’Arche Harbor House. He was a member of NEFAR. Being in ROTC at the University of Florida, he immediately served his country upon graduation. He was stationed in Germany, where he met his wife, Eileen. He was a devout Catholic and an active member of San Jose Catholic Church, where he was a lecture, Eucharistic minister and a participant of the Learn to Read program for adults. He was an active tennis player at San Jose Country Club.
He was predeceased by his father, William B. Ryan, and mother, Elizabeth Royall Ryan. He was survived by his wife of 52 years, Eileen Fender Ryan. His daughters Sheila Ryan Smith (George) and Constance Ryan Marsden (Luke). His grandsons William Lewis Smith and Avery Alexander Marsden. His sisters Margaret Ann Ryan and Barbara Ryan Kirwin (Jim). Nephew Trey Kirwin and niece Kristen Kirwin.
Due to COVID, just immediate family will attend the service.
