Neil is survived by his son Geoffrey Simpson (Jesie), brother Steve Simpson grandsons Michael Simpson and Jaden Raymie, sisters in law Pam Picray (James) and Jackie Hochstadt (Brad), niece Meredith Jespersen (Aaron) and nephew Joshua Ward. Neil is preceded in death by his beloved wife Leslie A. Simpson, his parents William H. and Magdalene Janie Simpson, sister in law Shane Hochstadt and brother in law Greg Hochstadt.
Neil was born in Anderson, South Carolina and moved to Jacksonville in 1959. He graduated from Englewood High School where he was an all star athlete in football, baseball and track. After graduation, he began a long career working for Wells Fargo Armored Car Services from which he retired from in 2015. Neil was an avid hunter and fisherman and never missed a chance to be in the woods.
Services will be held on Monday March 2, 2026 at 10:00am at The Well Church of Jacksonville 2001 Ernest St. Jacksonville, FL 32204 with Pastor Tone Benedict officiating.
